The first to show was Visconti, from Jessie Agnes and Rayon D'Or, but after only 2 furlongs Rayon D'Or dashed passed the early leader to make the test a true gallop. By the time of the rising hill Rayon D'Or had increased his lead ahead of Alchemist and Ruperra and this order was maintained at the Red House. As they rounded the final bend Rayon D'Or was still several lengths clear of Ruperra and was still pulling double. Seemingly without effort he maintained his lead to the line, winning by 5 lengths in 3 minutes 21 seconds, with a length separating Ruperra and Exeter. In an outstanding 23 race career he won 17 and was second twice. but was soundly beaten in Sir Bevys Derby. | Over Round 104% | ||
